{"id":67,"date":"2020-06-14T15:29:44","date_gmt":"2020-06-14T14:29:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/woodchipcomputers.co.uk\/?p=67"},"modified":"2020-06-14T15:30:32","modified_gmt":"2020-06-14T14:30:32","slug":"lockdown-mania","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/woodchipcomputers.co.uk\/index.php\/2020\/06\/14\/lockdown-mania\/","title":{"rendered":"Lockdown Mania"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I suppose we all go a bit crazy, these Lockdown Days.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-64 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/woodchipcomputers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Header.jpg\" alt=\"A New Sally\" width=\"940\" height=\"198\" srcset=\"https:\/\/woodchipcomputers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Header.jpg 940w, https:\/\/woodchipcomputers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Header-300x63.jpg 300w, https:\/\/woodchipcomputers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Header-768x162.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 940px) 100vw, 940px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For me, it&#8217;s been about learning to ring in a Virtual Tower, thanks to Ringing Room.\u00a0 On Wednesdays and Thursdays I retreat to a quiet room, don the earbuds and ring; first with a basically Ilkley crowd on Wednesday and then with our own Kildwick mob on a Thursday.\u00a0 Some of the kids are doing better than me, I think!<\/p>\n<p>Sara joins us for these.\u00a0 Because distance isn&#8217;t a problem, she can ring just as well from the Welsh Valleys as she could from next door.<\/p>\n<p>During the rest of the week, passions for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Making things<\/li>\n<li>Inventing things<\/li>\n<li>Bell ringing<\/li>\n<li>String<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>all come together with a ropewalk.\u00a0 I 3D printed a ropewalk &#8220;engine&#8221; and have been making bellropes!\u00a0 One of the requirements is a machine for winding sally wool &#8211; and I&#8217;ve made a start on documenting this whole process with that.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/woodchipcomputers.co.uk\/index.php\/making-a-wool-winder\/\">Read it here, if you like.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll write a bit about the actual rope making shortly&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I suppose we all go a bit crazy, these Lockdown Days.
